Gypsum-based adhesive applied to plasterboard walls and ceiling for fixing and bonding cornice. It can also be used for touching-up fibrous plaster boards to produce a seamless and precise finish by using a steel trowel.
- Suitable for fixing and bonding cornice to wall and ceiling plaster boards.
Mixing
- Use a container to fill with clean water.
- For required consistency of the mixture, simply sprinkle cornice compound into the later. The ratio is 2 or 3 parts of compound to 1 part water.
- Before mixing, soak the compound for 1 to 3 minutes.
- Over mixing is not encouraged as setting time of mixture could be sped up.
Application
- On the surface length of both edges of cornice, apply the mixture.
- To achieve a better result, simply press cornice into position until it holds.
- A broad knife is used to remove excess of compound.
- Use a damp sponge to clean off any residue.
- For bigger sized cornice it may need temporary support, for example, by using screws.
Cleaning of Equipment
Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water immediately after use. Hardened or cured material can only be removed mechanically.
